Program Description

The program raises vital and integral awareness of the environment. In so doing it responds to the needs of providing a safe and healthy working environment to the Industrial worker. Furthermore it holds the responsibility for maintaining and improving environmental, health and safety issues at national and international levels.

Mode of attendance

Face to face, modular block release. We offer Weekday and Weekend Classes. Two days a month

Requirements

Certificate Level

• 5 ‘O’ level passes at grade C or better, including English Language and a Numerate subject.(i.e.Mathematics, Accounts, Statistics)

Diploma Level 1

• Professional qualifications within the Environmental Health and Safety Field from an approved Institute or Examining Board.
• At least two years working experience

Please note exemptions are only available at certificate level at the registrar discretion

Certificate Level (6 months training)

Aim: This stage is introductory and gives basic awareness and understanding of environmental health and safety.

Choice of one elective plus one day field trip

• Communication and Presentation Skills (Incorporating Public Relations)
• Legal aspects of environmental health and safety

Diploma Level I (6 months training)

Aimed at broadening knowledge of issues introduced at the certificate level

• Occupational Hygiene
• Occupational health and safety
• Risk and Disaster management
• Environmental Economics

Diploma Level II (6 months training)

This stage gives delegates an opportunity to specialize in specific sectors of their interest
